We are pleased to introduce you to our Stirling Montessori Directors and passionate leaders behind our programs. Their bios below showcase their expertise, dedication, and commitment to providing an unparalleled educational journey for your child. At Stirling Montessori Academy, every child’s potential is recognized and nurtured under the guidance of our exceptional Montessori Directors, Claire and Caley.
Claire Cumpstey
Claire began her career in business administration, although she always felt drawn to teaching. She completed her Montessori training at the London Montessori Centre in England, and as a young mother, opened her own Montessori school in South Africa.
After emigrating to Canada with her family, Claire settled in Oakville and worked at a private schoool as a Montessori teacher and administrator. She formed strong relationships with her colleagues, one of whom was Caley Ruzzier. Caley and Claire remained friends and vowed to open their own Montessori school one day. She gained further experience in education by administering a private not-for-profit school. In 2013, Claire and Caley opened their first Stirling Montessori school, realizing their dream of providing a quality Montessori education for children in Milton. Six years later, they opened a second location in Brantford.
Along with her vast business and teaching experience, Claire brings warmth, compassion, humour, and knowledge to her students and their families. In her free time, she practices yoga and runs to stay active.
Caley Ruzzier
Caley’s career in Montessori education spans over twenty years. She began her Montessori career at a private school in Oakville, where she taught in the Casa and Elementary classrooms. Caley took an active role in the school environment where she worked until the birth of her third child. Her vision of opening her own Montessori School took flight when she met Claire, who shared her passion for education.
Caley earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University Of Windsor Ontario, and a Primary and Elementary Montessori Education diploma from Toronto Montessori Institute. She continues to participate in many professional development courses and workshops.
Caley attended high school in Milton, where she currently resides with her husband and three children. After struggling to find quality programming for her own children, Caley recognized the need for an exceptional early education program. In 2013, Caley and Claire partnered to open a school that provides an authentic Montessori education to the residents of Milton and surrounding areas.
