The Casa curriculum builds self-esteem, independence, physical development, and fosters a child’s natural love of learning. The three-year age grouping fosters a collaborative learning environment where younger students benefit from their older peers, who, in turn, take on leadership roles and offer peer mentoring. This approach cultivates cohesive social communities within each classroom.
The Casa program is available for children ages 3-6 years old. Montessori classrooms are set up as a prepared environment, designed to stimulate interest and exploration. Children receive personalized Montessori lessons, utilizing materials that connect abstract concepts with rich sensorial experiences. This method actively involves their hands and minds, emphasizing manipulation over passive observation.
Classrooms are divided into five key areas: • Practical Life • Sensorial • Math • Language • Culture
Children are free to explore and work in each area. As they become engaged in purposeful activities, they begin to develop concentration, attention to detail, and self-discipline. Lessons on grace, courtesy, and respect for others and the environment, are an integral part of the program.
Stirling Montessori Academy provides an enriched reading and writing program, starting at 3 years old, capitalizing on children’s natural language-learning abilities. Through a phonetic approach to reading, daily Montessori material practice, and at-home reading, we nurture early development for strong readers. Our weekly specialty classes in French, Music, and Movement add a well-rounded dimension to the learning experience.
